Despite a fire breaking out at the iconic Mainstage just days before the festival kicked off, Tomorrowland 2025 went ahead in full force. Now, it’s time to deal with something more practical: getting your leftover Pearls refunded. Spoiler: yes, it’s possible (mostly).
Tomorrowland has once again proven that nothing can stop the magic. Even with the unexpected fire that damaged part of its legendary Mainstage days before the opening, the 19th edition in Boom, Belgium went on to deliver two weekends of pure electronic bliss. As the music fades and your festival bracelet becomes a keepsake, it’s time to take care of one last detail: how to get your unused Pearls refunded.
In case you missed it: Tomorrowland is a cashless festival. Every purchase (whether food, drinks or merchandise inside the festival or DreamVille) is made using Pearls, the official Tomorrowland currency stored on your bracelet or digital e-ticket.
What are Pearls and how does the balance system work?
Pearls are the only payment method accepted at Tomorrowland and DreamVille. You can top up your bracelet either online before the event or on-site during the festival. Here’s the official exchange rate:
- €20 = 11 Pearls (1 Pearl = €1.82)
- €40 = 22 Pearls
- €60 = 33 Pearls
- …up to a maximum top-up of €1000
Keep in mind, your account cannot exceed €5000 in total.
If you topped up online before the deadline for your weekend, you likely received Bonus Pearls: free extra Pearls that are used only after your main balance runs out. For example, a €200 top-up gives you 110 Pearls + 4 Bonus Pearls.
How do cashless refunds work at Tomorrowland 2025?
Once the festival ends, Tomorrowland refunds all unspent Pearls (excluding Bonus Pearls) with a small fee of 2 Pearls per refund. This fee helps cover transaction and service processing costs. The refund method depends on how you initially topped up your bracelet:
Automatic refund: for online top-ups only
If you topped up your bracelet online using Visa, Mastercard, Bancontact, or iDeal before the festival, your leftover Pearls will be automatically refunded to the same card or bank account used for your first transaction.
- A 2 Pearl fee will be deducted.
- Bonus Pearls are non-refundable and cannot be used to cover the refund fee.
- The refund is capped at the amount you topped up online. Any additional funds added on-site will require a manual refund.
Automatic refund schedule:
- Weekend 1: from Friday, July 25, 2025
- Weekend 2: from Friday, August 1, 2025
Please allow several weeks for the refund to appear in your bank or credit card statement.
Manual refund: for on-site top-ups or extra balance
If your first top-up was made on-site at Tomorrowland or DreamVille (either with cash or card), or if you have balance beyond your online top-up, you’ll need to manually request your refund through your Tomorrowland account.
Manual refund form availability:
- Weekend 1: From July 25 at 13:00 CEST to August 14, 2025 at 23:59 CEST
- Weekend 2: From August 1 at 13:00 CEST to August 14, 2025 at 23:59 CEST
Manual refunds will begin processing from Monday, August 18, and it can take up to 6 weeks for the money to show in your account. A 2 Pearl fee also applies here.
For those attending from non-SEPA countries, refunds will be handled via PayPal only. Ensure your account information is filled in correctly to avoid delays.
